I get so many compliments on these shelves & to be honest... I don't know how I actually lived without them being here. I love having a spot to display my gorgeous finds, so if you want to make your own for under $20 head, here for the tutorial. It's such a simple low cost DIY project.
There is nothing that I love more than when the temperature changes & I can begin pulling out Fall decor, those chunky sweaters & boots. This time of the year has always been a favorite of mine. The jury is still out on if that's because my birthday is in Fall. Fall has always been about football, family, apple picking, bonfires, hayrides & corn-mazes. I honestly jump at any free time I get to spend with my family, because it's so important to me.
I thought it would be fun to share my decor process with you guys, so I hope you'll make sure & check that out below. In my last post, I shared how I love my home to look collected over time. In order to achieve that look I needed to do a little shopping. I shopped my home, by looking in other spaces for decor that I could move around, and I hit a few of my favorite stores like Target, Walmart & Hobby Lobby & Goodwill. If you missed the tips I shared in last week's video you need to check that out & save some coins.
How awesome do these books look in contrast to the bold tones in the platter?
I am such a fan of using this years Fall color, Amber with a deep mustard.
I think that adding this gorgeous large scale print on the top shelf was just what I needed to bring the eye upward. Don't you?
I kept it simple on the console under the shelves, so this space would remain fluid. Now that it has been painted to match the kitchen cabinets, I think it really shines!
The addition of the amber glasses is just the perfect touch. I didn't want to overdo the amount of amber that I used. I wanted it to make a statement, but not become the star of the show!
